Technical Excellence Across Microbial Kingdoms

01

Bacteria

Bacteria have long been used in industrial fermentation (e.g., E. coli, Bacillus subtilis), but challenges emerge when working beyond these model organisms. At Evologic, we specialize in the production and stabilization of difficult-to-produce bacteria – particularly relevant for the Agri-Tech market.

Key strengths:

02

Fungi

Filamentous fungi, particularly those outside the industrial standards (e.g. Penicillium, Trichoderma, Aspergillus), are notoriously difficult to scale. The vast majority of fungi are still primarily cultivated through solid-state fermentation (SSF) that comes with inherent limitations in sterility, process control, and scalability. Additionally, SSF can be successfully used to cultivate only a miniscule fraction of the fungal kingdom – out of more than three million fungal species, only few species have been commercialized. It is time to remove the constraints to biological manufacturing and unlock the numerous solutions fungal kingdom is offering. Evologic is doing so by:

Hairy Roots

Hairy root cultures are one of biotechnology’s most powerful but underutilized tools for producing plant-derived bioactive molecules. Generated through Agrobacterium rhizogenes-mediated transformation, these root systems are non-photosynthetic and source carbon from supplied media, enabling precise control over input and output. Our patented hairy root bioreactor technology enables: It is time to remove the constraints to biological manufacturing and unlock the numerous solutions fungal kingdom is offering.
