Fermentation

Microbes are living organisms, highly responsive to their environment. That’s why conditions like temperature, oxygen levels, and nutrient availability must be tightly controlled during fermentation to ensure both productivity and product fitness. Evologic has built a fermentation platform that ensures reproducibility across scales, from discovery to industrial production.

Mycotec®: Next‑Gen Fungal Biomanufacturing

Mycotec® is our proprietary fungal fermentation platform that combines the advantages of solid‑state and submerged (liquid) fermentation in a controlled and aseptic environment (bioreactor cultivation). This pseudo–solid‑state approach dramatically reduces contamination risk common in traditional tray‑based solid‑state systems, while enabling reliable scale‑up across a broad range of filamentous fungal species, including strains deemed difficult to produce at industrial volumes.  

The result: higher active ingredient productivity and delivery of fungal spores that are purer, more stable, and safer to handle downstream.

Mycotec® is protected by trade secrets, EU patent (E14669EP) for bioreactor design, and PCT application patent filed based on the EU patent. 

Formulation

Fermentation defines microbial performance. Formulation preserves it. We understand that the two are interdependent and must be developed hand-in-hand. Our formulation technologies are tailored to maximize product stability, compatibility, and shelf life, without compromising microbial activity. 

We specialize in both solid and liquid formulations and offer multiple downstream processing technologies.

Bioshield®: Protective Encapsulation for Sensitive Microbials

Bioshield® is Evologic’s proprietary encapsulation formulation platform engineered to safeguard living microbes and their metabolites from the stresses of manufacturing, storage, transport, and application. Using selected natural biopolymers, Bioshield® creates microcapsules that form a protective micro‑environment around cells, helping preserve viability, potency, and functional activity in organisms that are otherwise difficult to bring to market at commercial scale. The technology also supports multi‑strain and consortium co‑formulations, enabling synergistic product architectures without compromising stability or viability in industry‑standard application systems.
