Our Capabilities

When it comes to product quality, our customers appreciate Evologic´s expertise in process development, process optimization, scale up and formulation. Evologic turns science-based biologicals into stable, safe and effective products. Product quality defined during fermentation needs to be conserved by formulation to meet product expectations.

Fermentation

Microbes react to the environment they grow in. During fermentation, the conditions determine the speed of growth and the fitness of the microbes. Therefore Evologic is going the extra mile to ensure reproducible conditions during the fermentation stage. We are using fully equipped bioreactors from lab to industrial scale for consistent product quality allowing us to control temperature, dissolved oxygen and nutrient uptake to customize the microbes according to customer specifications.

25x lab scale (2 – 4 L)

9x pilot Scale (20 – 300 L)

9x industrial Scale (500 – 4000 L)

Formulation

Product quality is defined during fermentation but needs to be conserved by formulation to make sure the product meets expectations. However, the formulation also decides the compatibility and long-term stability of your living microbe. Formulation and fermentation are highly interlinked and must be developed and optimized together. At Evologic we mostly rely on solid formulations but are also quite experienced when it comes to liquid formulations. Or technical capabilities span the following procedures:

Spray drying (20 kg)

produces a dry powder by rapidly spraying the harvested material through a fine nozzle using hot air.

Fluid bed drying (5 – 300 kg)

separates the biomass from excess liquid, the material is dried in a fluidized bed via heat exchange with hot air.

Freeze drying (5 kg)

places frozen biomass in a vacuum, allowing the ice to change from a solid to a vapor, bypassing the liquid stage.

Wet formulation

stabilizes the biomass in a liquid state ensuring stability over time.

Quality Analysis

Every bio-process, every product is just as good as the analytical methods used for quality control. Which is why we have established in-house analytical capabilities to ensure the highest product quality of your living microbes.
